Low performances on workflows

Hi all,

I noticed that even a simple workflows  takes too much time. For exemple in my Profil assignment workflow containing 6 levels the processing can take several minutes (5-10 min).

So my question is, it is normal?

Or may be someone knows which optimizations could be done?
