ADSGroup Synchronization Errors

$
0
0

Recently I've noticed that ADSGroup memberships between the Active Directory environment and IdentityManager are showing a larger disparity where membership removals in AD are not being detected and updated in IdentityManager even after a synchronization is run.  I've run multiple simulations with synchronizations running full synchronizations and just specific Object Types (Groups + ADSGroupMember).  These syncs always are set with IdentityManager as the slave system so group membership removals will be deleted and any new direct assignment membership will be updated in the IdentityManager Db. (see image)

Synchronization Settings IdentityManager.PNG

The synchronization has failed consistently with errors as seen below for multiple Groups and Users.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue with sychronizations?  This disparity is causing owners to be unable to manage their groups and put additional pressure on the call center .

Refreshing a collection in a component that is used as container reference

Hi,

we are using a custom component that displays role memberships for a selected person. This component has one Virtual Collection from type person and two internal collections (PersonInOrg and Org).

If a user now selects a person (P1) in the parent module the whole mechanism works fine. But if the user selects another person (P2), the role memberships of P1 are displayed.

I'am using delete and load collection data actions in the Initializer of the component of course, but they seem to be useless: Those collections keep their initial state.

Has so. an idea for me?

Thanks,

Norbert

Error Message adding or deleting users to AD groups using ARS

Hi All

We did incorporate Q1IM 6.0 with ARS to connect to the customers active directory. As we did build a process to automate some groups based on textfiles, we did hit a huge load of error messages last night during our go-live.

The error message that was coming up is:

2013-03-17 05:33:43 -04:00 - VI.JobService.JobComponents.ADSComponent - d3d870c2-d7f9-4321-b6dd-0bd2469dadb8: Errors occured

The connection mode of the provider was set to ADS_EDMSERVER_BIND.

Loading import file BFO_ADSMapping.DLL.XML has changed the object property assignment rules and the member relationships.

Error processing object relations for CN=p.aut.mss_emps,OU=Auto-Generated Groups,OU=B-F Groups,OU=All Groups,DC=b-f,DC=net in Active Directory.

[854003] Processing task Change Members failed.

[System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException] Administrative Policy returned an error.

Request to change a multi-valued attribute has failed: attempted to add or remove too many attribute values. Not more than 1500 values can be added or removed from a multi-valued attribute within a single request.

It seems like the customer is dealing with a bigger number of user accounts in AD groups. Does anyone know a way to work around that using Q1IM and ARS as the AD provisioning engine? Any hint would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Carsten

Webportal error when browsing objects

$

When accessing certain objects in the WebPortal as a user I am getting errors on some objects. The screen displays -

An error has occurred while processing your request. Please contact your system administrator.

Looking in the logs of the WebPortal nothing is showing up as an issue.

It seems that items such as Primary Location, Primary Department, Primary Business Roles in the overview all cause this to happen, but some items such as Resources do not.

Using the same user in Identity Manager, the user is able to click on the objects from the Overview and navigate with no issues.

It sounds like some permissions type issue, but as nothing is being logged I cannot see where to track this back, has anyone seen anything similar?

How can I configure Identity Manager in Web?

Hi all,

I am trying to publish the Identity Manager webapp in IIS but I won't work. It keeps giving me the message "Required permissions cannot be acquired." as shown below.

I followed the manual "IdentityManagerWeb_Installation.pdf".

I manually created the Cache folders and gave IUSER... account full control but that didn't help.

I am running the ITShop on the same web server so I know connecting and communicating with Quest is possible.

Does anyone know what I need to do to get it to work?

Any idea is welcome.

Thanks in advance,

Leen Boers

Designer - Access right on a column

Hi,

In the Web designer I created a grid to dispay an Org collection (created basedon the org table)

When I goto the page do display my org, I got the following :

2013-11-05 16_34_27-kltdev-cli - clt-quest-dev - Connexion Bureau à distance.png

(Rôle métier = Ident_Org, Libellé = ShortName,Description = description)

I think the message is understandable : ShortName field is hidden but I really don't know where should it be modified.

In the designer I modified the access right on the corresponding table and column column (see below)

Access right on the table

2013-11-05 17_08_05-kltdev-cli - clt-quest-dev - Connexion Bureau à distance.png

Access right on the column

2013-11-05 17_08_58-kltdev-cli - clt-quest-dev - Connexion Bureau à distance.png

But I still got the same message <hidden: ...>

Do you have any idea what's goin on ? Which group permission should I add if I want everybody to see this column value ?

thanks again for your help,

Regards,

Steph.

Reverse Password Sync from AD to Q1IM

Hi All,

Please let us know if anyone has an idea on the components involved to enable the password synchronization of user accounts from AD to Q1IM DB?

Note: We are looking at a scenario where a user changes password through ctrl+alt+del in the workstation due to which the password is updated in AD directly. We need the passwords to be synced back to Q1IM DB so that the new password is propagated to the other connected target systems (LDAP, etc)

Thanks,

Priya

Q1IM 6.0.1: edsvaSecondaryOwners attribute writing permission

Hi all,

I have ARS but I´m going to replace it with Q1IM ADE version.

I have many Distribution Groups with secondayOwner already defined and I would like to use edsvaSecondaryOwners from ADE in order to store the secondaryOwner from ARS.

My problem is: I don´t have write permissions on edsvaSecondaryOwners attribute.

I changed those permission in table ADSGroup for edsvaSecondaryOwners but still having problems.

My guess: edsvaSecondaryOwners is a virtual attribute and is defined in other table but I don´t know which one is it.

anybody has an idea?

Thanks in advanced.

Hello,

I want to put business roles in ITShop to "offer" them in self-service. In order to do that, I create an assignment resource and add it to a shop thanks to creating a new ITShopHasRessource object.

Now I want to remove this resource from the shop but when I delete this ITShopHasRessource object, my product is still in the shop. Do you know how can I do that?

Serge

So when trying to execute one of the commands in an exchange shell, i'm also getting the message that Set-CalendarProcessing is not the name of a known cmdlet.

The user we're using to update exchange mailboxes has the following permissions:

Account Operators

Public Folder Management

Records Management

Server Management

Domain Admins

The user also has full control on the file "inproxy.dll" although this one is located in D:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Mailbox\address\smtp\amd64 instead of C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Mailbox\address\smtp\amd64\ as mentioned in the documentation.

The service is running locally on an exchange server having the exchange roles hub transport, client access and mailbox, running Exchange 2010, Version Version 14.1 (Build 218.15) which is SP1.

So what could be a reason for that?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All,

From End user web application a user requested a product (Service Item), once approval process completes, system will assign the product to the user.  Now user can unsubscribe the product from Web interface.  But my question is, How Administrator can remove that product from user?  I have accessed Manager (viadmin) but i didn't see any option to remove Entitlements.

Hi,

I'am using a script that inserts objects in PersonWantsOrg table and I run sometimes a following exception:

[810008] Could not save object Request procedures ("PersonName" - 02/13/2014 16:07:48).
[881173] This employee is not authorized to place an request here. (Possibly wait for the DBScheduler evaluation)

Actually I'am working on two environments, and this exception is generated only on one of them althought the procedures are the same...

Could you please help me to understand a cause of this issue?

Bypass Unsubscribe workflow on attestation revoke

$

Hi All,

I have configured an attestation policy than on revoke the business role is removed/unsubscribed from the user, to bypass all the steps in the unsubscribe workflow I added at the beginning a query that checks if there is an attestation case that was denied/revoked for the combination of user and role, and with the UID_PersonWantsOrg in the same entry.

Is there another cleaner way to do it? Since the UID_PersonWantsOrg is inside the field ReportContent I prefer to change this approach, even if it's working at the moment.

Thanks

JM
